A logo for a company called Love4Lasers should have a little heart in it, shouldn’t it? We could picture it already: an image of three little hearts in red, green and blue, just like our RGB party lasers. The end result? It turned out to be completely different.
After choosing the company name Love4lasers, Maarten and Sander start surfing the web for a graphic designer to develop a professional logo. “We knew exactly what it would look like. A heart, an icon of a laser; we only needed someone who could put onto paper what we saw in our imaginations. But finding that someone was more easily said than done. There are so many graphic designers out there – how do you know whether a designer understands your ideas and is able to translate those ideas into concrete images? The “click” is important, because you have to work together intensively.”
“A post on Facebook showed that word of mouth is still most effective. Our Facebook friends included several people who have been very helpful. Thanks to Marlene, the owner of BureauTekst, we soon found Lamper Design. Thank you, Marlene, for the lead! We had found the “click”: Kees understood our little jokes and our sense of humor perfectly. More importantly, he understood the concept for the logo we had in mind. Soon after sending him a draft of the logo we had in mind, he sent us the touched-up version. Well, we have to admit it: we were really disappointed! It turned out the logo as we had imagined it, wasn’t such a great idea after all.
Luckily Kees had foreseen our reaction and presented us with an alternative. His image reflected our perception of Love4Lasers and how we want to present our company much more accurately. A few emails and some small adjustments later, we arrived at our current logo: the name Love4Lasers with a pictogram of little balls shooting lasers. We are very grateful to Kees for his time and effort, with two such perfectionists for clients. Thank you, Kees!”
